YEH hosts meeting about secular colleges.
Rabbi Todd Berman
The Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus, the Orthodox Union's college, program had its first ever meeting with heads of yeshivot this year at Yeshivat Eretz HaTzvi. We were proud to be selected to host this important event.
Representatives of many yeshivot came to discuss with the leadership of the JLIC the issues affecting students on campus. Having been one of the pioneers of JLIC and presently serving on its advisory committee, I was excited to welcome this event.
Rabbi Menachem Schrader, the visionary of JLIC, explained how yeshivot can help their students on secular campuses. YEH has been the pioneering institution in this area and we plan continue our commitment to help students on college campuses. All the yeshivot agreed to both visit campuses more regularly and to work together to publicize each others visits.
Yeshivat Eretz HaTzvi is proud to maintain a close relationship with JLIC and to empower our students to take leadership roles on campus.
All in all it was both eye opening, informative, and productive meeting for all present.
